Item Description

A classic plate of glassy and gemmy, golden yellow Fluorite crystals to 1 cm across from the Mascona Mine in Spain, known for intense yellow fluorite. These jello-like crystals are completely transparent to slightly translucent in places so that you can see right through to the light colored matrix in some areas and small areas with an underlying reddish hue in others (iron staining, perhaps). Almost pristine, it does have just a few minor bits of damage here or there but it is hard to see these in context. The piece is enhanced by contrasting, scattered off-white, saddle-shaped Dolomite crystals locally as well. A very good example from this classic locality, nicely displayable as a vertical or a horizontal specimen.
