Fluorite with Calcite (unusual color zoning for the locality - 2021 find)

The prolific Yaogangxian Mine has been producing world-class mineral specimens for a couple decades at this point, and we are still seeing new and interesting pieces coming out, including this limited discovery in 2021 that produced these beautiful Fluorite crystals that aren't quite like anything we've seen before from the locality. This piece features a predominant pair of razor-sharp, rather gemmy, lustrous cubes of Fluorite free of matrix with an interesting color zoning that features a gentle purplish color in the corners and nearly colorless tones closer to the center of the crystals. Like many Fluorites in this color range, this crystal shows a color change from indoor lighting where it shows a purple tone, to more of a blue color in sunlight. Small compressed white "poker chip" style Calcite crystals measuring up to 1.0 cm across are gently strewn across the Fluorites for a nice touch. No damage of the front/display side, but the piece is contacted on bottom/back where it was removed from the pocket wall. A very attractive newly mined piece from this iconic locality that would make a stellar addition to any Fluorite suite or a collection of either Chinese minerals, or specifically pieces from the Yaogangxian Mine.
