Fluorite with Calcite on Ferberite and Arsenopyrite (Hefendehl Coll.)

Fluorite, Ferberite, Calcite and Arsenopyrite, oh my! This is a colorful and attractive combination specimen from the Yaogangxian Mine! Large, 7.5 cm blades of Ferberite are accentuated by a pair of purple Fluorites with a cluster of Arsenopyrite on one side of the base with a rich clustering hexagonal, white disks of Calcite on one side! The transparent to translucent medium grape-purple colored Fluorite crystals are 3.5 and 1.5 cm across and display prominently and slightly offset at the top of the big Ferberite blades. A half-dozen metallic tin-white Arsenopyrite crystals are found at the base of the piece and contrast markedly with the adjacent, 0.5 to 0.8 cm thin, white, hexagonal plates of Calcite, all of which exhibit a tiny, 1 to 1.5 mm, light gray-blue dot in the center of them for great aesthetic effect and the contrasting Calcites augment the presentation of the piece!
