Fluorite with Calcite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

A nice gemmy, yellow crystal group of sharp and lustrous cubic Fluorite measuring up to 9 mm on edge sitting on modified scalenohedral gemmy white / colorless Calcite. The underside of the piece is actually another layer of cubic golden Fluorites, so this is Fluorite on Calcite on Fluorite. Very little damage, and the piece is actually crystallized nearly all the way around, making it nearly a complete "floater". A lovely attractive association specimen from this well known Fluorite producing district. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12558). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
