Fluorite with Calcite

Item Description

Attractive pair of Fluorite crystals with attached Calcite, from the famous Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field in China. The Fluorites actually have a gemmy, light green core, and this growth was followed by zones of colorless, light blue, dark blue, and purple. The entire surface of the Fluorite has stepped growth almost on the micro level, creating a sparkling shimmer that really looks like a light blue snowfield with the sun shining on it. The attached Calcite is well-formed, partially gemmy, and lustrous. This is a nice, representative example of one of the Fluorite variations from Xianghualing, and was #12,412 in Kay's collection.
