Fluorite with Calcite

Item Description

A striking, 3.4 x 3.1 x 2.5 cm, fluorite cube is aesthetically set on matrix on this showy and excellent speicmen from classic Asturias. This highly lustrous cube has intensely stepped-growth faces and one face is partially covered with tiny, gemmy, calcite crystals. Most of the cube is a nearly opaque, very deep purple, BUT some corners, edges and stringers GLOW with translucent, rich violet color when backlit. Two of the corners are gently cleaved, but are only a modest detraction to this impressive and most colorful fluorite.
