Fluorite with Calcite (2021 find)

Here we have a beautiful specimen from the new find of 2021 at the famous Yaogangxian Mine. This colorful and eye-catching cabinet sized display specimen hosts a few beautiful cubic crystals measuring up to 6.7 cm on edge with a rich Caribbean blue-green hue. It should be pointed out that the larger Fluorite is not a complete cube, as it seems to have encountered some interruption of growth, but if you look closely, you can see it's actually crystallized (re-crystallized) on the surface, so it's not damaged. The Fluorites are highlighted by a coverage of beautiful little white "poker chip" Calcite crystals which can be seen on both sides of the specimen. No real damage that I can find, and that color is juicy in person. The Yaogangxian Mine is one of the iconic localities for Fluorite in China, which is really saying something considering how many places have produced great Fluorite specimens over the past 20+ years from this country. Don't miss out on this beauty, few like it were found, and we don't know if there will be more.
