Item Description

Fluorites from the Blanchard mine are about as classic as minerals from the southwestern U.S. get. This piece features large, sharp, gem/gemmy cubic Fluorite crystals which show a color shift from a strong greenish-blue color that transition into a purplish-blue color depending upon which light they're viewed under. The cubes measure up to 4.7 cm on edge and have a typical soft matte luster seen at this mine, but some of the crystals very gemmy inside. The final touch to this beauty is the association of bright blue-green acicular Brochantite! Collecting at this locality is not easy, and typically the Fluorite specimens are not 100% damage free. This piece has some VERY minor damage, but nothing that I would say is forgiveable. Overall, it is an attractive and colorful display specimen of this well known material from this great mine in New Mexico. Valued at $1400 high end.
