Item Description
A classic and excellent combination specimen from the famous Elmwood Mine. A 2.7 x 2.6 x 2.5 cm, lustrous, translucent, fluorite cube is aesthetically set on a crust of silicified limestone covered with tiny calcite rhombs and RARE droplets of pyrobitumen (basically, petroleum). The fluorite has intense, stepped-growth faces, giving a flashy, scintillating look and classic, darker purple, edge phantoms surrounding a gorgeous, rich grape-purple core. This beautiful fluorite is complete and very nearly pristine, with only very trivial bruising on one corner. A very fine, older and rare combination specimen from this noted locale. Ex Steve Chamberlain Collection. This fine piece has multiple display possibilities. Valued at $500-700. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
