Item Description
Small globules of bitumen are richly included in the outer areas of these glassy color-zoned fluorite cubes jauntily set atop rubyjack sphalerite and accented with barite. The cubes, to 5.6 x 4.7 x 4.2 cm, have amazing scintillating very dense stepped-growth faces and colorless interiors with nifty light purple edge phantoms. The large cube has a classic, water-clear, gem corner. The small cube is pristine in the presentation face and the large cube has only two gently bruised corners. Periphery wear to the sphalerite, barite and other fluorites are noted. This remains an impressive, uncommon and showy example of the combination species richly included with hydrocarbons from the famous Elmwood Mine. Older material from the Consie Prince Collection.
