Fluorite with Baryte and Sphalerite

Aesthetic, sculptural and unusual small cabinet combination from the famous Elmwood Mine. Classic, intergrown Fluorite cubes are nicely framed by clusters of Baryte blades. The gemmy and lustrous purple cubes, to 2.1 cm, have entrancing darker purple edge phantoms with densely stepped-growth, satin luster crystal faces. A single, small, 5 mm, Calcite crystal is also noted on the fluorite. Uncommon natural interior radiation burns in the cubes add a striking visual aspect to the piece. The interior is nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear to one small cube on the left side. The noted periphery wear is certainly a modest detraction to this showy piece. Rubyjack Sphalerite is embedded in the attachment on the back, a typical accessory. Ex John Whatley Collection, a well-known Georgia collector (1939-2022) and acquired in 1985.
