Item Description

An old specimen from the 1990s workings here, this is a sharp fluorite with baryte from the older Gordonsville mine workings, in what is more commonly called the Elmwood mine, in Tennessee. It came out a long time ago and has an old label from when another dealer was selling off the collection of one of the people involved at the time (priced $250 from some 20 years ago). This is a particularly nice balance. The crystal has deep color and sort of floats in air atop a cloud-shaped shard of baryte, with a ball of more classical baryte to one side. Taken together, it is a unique, unusual piece - and complete all around. See the video to get a better appreciation of the 3-dimensionality here. Valued $1000-1500 today. This is NOT a common example, but really quite special in person
