Item Description
This piece is labeled as coming from the "Untermuensterthal" in the "Schwarzwald" (Black Forest), but I don't have a specific mine. It could be from Schwarzenbruch, but this is only a guess. The specimen features sharp, lustrous, translucent, medium purple color cubic crystals measuring up to 1.2 on edge associated with white to buff colored Barite. Several of the Fluorites are in great shape, though there are some contacts here and there. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#779). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
