Item Description

Despite the fact that there are only a handful of minerals found at the Elmwood mine, they are among the most recognizable minerals in the world. The classic purple Fluorites are a favorite among collectors, and it's easy to see why. This piece features sharp, gemmy, beautiful rich purple color, "phantom" cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring 1.0 cm on edge smartly perched atop a matrix hosting Barite, Sphalerite and micro Quartz. A classic example of an Elmwood Fluorite. Decent quality, but there are some nicks on some of the corners of the FLuorite. This piece is close to 30 years old, and is a worthwhile display piece especially coming from this prominent and celebrated zinc ore body!
