Item Description
A classic example of the old time gem green Fluorites from Naica. This is not from contemporary mining, but dates back the to mid 1970s when some of the first and best examples of the material came out. This group of very sharp and lustrous nearly WATER CLEAR crystals show predominantly cubic form, but there are dodecahedral, octahedral and trapezohedral(?) or trisoctahedral(?) modifications on the corners. I can even see a small amount of penetration twinning on the side of the main crystal What's more the piece shows an unusual and distict colorless cubic "phantom" inside the main crystal as you can see in the first photo. The colors range from colorless to soft green with a very slight peach-pink hue in certain lighting. Excellent condition from the front / display side, but contacted on the back / bottom where it was removed from the pocket. HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH AND BETTER IN PERSON, trust me on this one. From the collection of Senator / Dr. Miguel Romero of Teuhuacan, Mexico (Collection #4809).
