Item Description

Lustrous, gemmy, pretty violet fluorite cubes totally cover this large, imposing and sculptural, sail-shaped specimen from the less well-known Hill-Ledford Mine. The cubes reach 7 mm. Very interestingly, one side of the piece has only a rich sprinkling of tiny, gemmy, rubyjack sphalerite crystals, while the other side is richly peppered with sphalerites. There is only one, 1.0 cm, lustrous, galena cube on the front edge of the piece. In great shape, overall, with only one small spot of bruising on the "sail". Thats blue tack on the edge. Rare material in this size and quality from this locality. Ex Harold Urish Collection # 425. Moderate purple fluorescence.
