Item Description
Stunning yellow hydrocarbon fluorescence in this VERY RARE color-zoned fluorite specimen from this most obscure Cave-in-Rock mine. The very glassy gem cubes, to 4.3 cm, have classic amber cores with nifty purple edge phantoms. The striking fortification features, attached spray of small calcite crystals and non-fluorescent bitumen blebs on the faces add much pizzazz to this outstanding rarity. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a few trivial edge bruises. This aesthetic and very rare beauty has 360-degree presence and glows, when back lit. Self-collected by Ross Lillie # 1584 during pillar robbing in 1980. Fairly valued at $1250-1500 for rarity and high quality.
