Impressive and RARE CUBIC fluorite from a unique 2013 find at this obscure Chinese locale. These have slowly turned up in China over the last few years, coming back to market from an old dealer's stash. Most specimens seen from here are octahedrons, not cubes. This dramatic and aesthetic large sculptural specimen is dominated by the large 7.5 x 6.7 cm cube. The fine green, lustrous and translucent cubes have stepped-growth faces. Preferential secondary overgrowth of colorless/white fluorite on the stepped-growth edges and on the modified cube corners are stunning accents. Fluorite specimens from Shangrao, Jiangxi, China are rare compared to most other well-known Chinese localities. Bright purple fluorescence.
