Item Description

Chalcopyrite is relatively rare from the famous mines of the Illinois Fluoropar District. Sparkly golden crystals are sprinkled on the very fine large mounded plate of bi-colored fluorite cubes. The highly lustrous, transparent to translucent cubes, to 3.0 cm, have frosted, etched or stepped-growth faces with rich golden-amber interiors beautifully complimented with pretty violet-purple areas. Very nearly pristine, with only one gently cleaved corner noted, which is certainly only a modest detraction. This is an exceptional bi-colored Denton Mine fluorite with uncommon chalcopyrite. Modest dark purple fluorescence. Valued at $1250-1500 and worth it.
