Item Description

Lustrous, translucent, interpenetrating pretty purple fluorite cubes, to 3.0 cm, make up this showy and excellent large elongate plate from this famous Weardale mine. The seam of tiny, second generation, lighter cubes running across the piece really adds character. Interestingly the bottom is totally covered with tiny, sparkly, colorless calcite rhombs. Nearly pristine, with only one gently bruised corner and modest periphery wear. Both species fluoresce, BRIGHT whitish-blue on the fluorite! Classic and excellent combination fluorite from the Bob Trimingham Collection.
