Item Description
Gemmy, lustrous, straw-yellow fluorite cubes, to 1.8 cm, with frosted faces are richly and aesthetically mounded on the large limestone matrix on this rich, excellent and classic old-timer from an unknown mine in historic Alston Moor District. Clusters and isolated crystals of brown saddle-shaped ankerite rhombs are an exceptional and rare compliment. The fluorites are nearly pristine, with only a few gently bruised corners. Rich purple fluroescence. From an East Coast collection and comes with a torn and faded century-old label. RARE and excellent large combination material. The piece displays well from both directions. Valued at $1000-1250 for rarity, age, size and quality.
