Fluorite (USA classic locale)

Item Description

This is a really good example because of the size and color, and condition as well, from major finds here at the Deer Trail Mine in Utah in the early 1980s. It is a complete plate with beautiful coverage, unusually good translucency to the crystals, and large size. Normally such a plate would be in the thousands of dollars in value, IF you even see one today from old collections. This was purchased by noted SF area colletor Clifford Krueger from Diversified Minerals of Utah at the time they came out in 1983 (Cliff paid $400, a lot of money at that time for a new USA find!), and then was sold to Cliff's friend and colelcting peer Jack when Jack received first pick of the Krueger minerals after he passed away. So it has been preserved and offf the market for nnearly 40 years. We are truly honored to present this specimen from another lot of deaccessions from the collection of Jack Halpern of San Francisco, as featured in the Mineralogical Record, March 2005.
