Item Description
I have seen some of the odd green botryoidal Fluorites from Cavnic in the past, but I can't remember seeing a single specimen of these unusual spherical / botryoidal lavender colored Fluorites before. This piece is filled with a few dozen, gemmy / translucent "balls" of Fluorite measuring up to 3 mm in a Quartz vug on matrix. The Fluorites have a somewhat "drusy" appearance on the surface. A great addition to a Fluorite suite to be sure, as the habit is rare, along with the locality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8196). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
