Fluorite (unusual large spinel twinned crystals)

Item Description

Outstanding compound Fluorite specimen composed of three huge spinel twin Fluorites and one elongated cube (now a rectangular prism). The coffee-brown crystals are actually quite gemmy, and the luster ranges from a 'watery-glassy" to silky. The longest of the spinel twins is an amazing 15 cm, and even with one of the terminations actually cleaved, there is no denying the exceptional nature of these crystals. The more cubic of the Fluorite crystals is 6.6 cm long and 2.9 cm across. Even with that one cleave, the rarity of the spinel twins and sheer size of the Fluorites easily warrant a $1,000+ value on this large cabinet specimen.
