Item Description
Fluorites are known from thousands of localities around the world, in every color of the rainbow, but there was a small discovery of these unique color-change stones in Brazil several years ago. The stones exhibit an odd silvery-smoky hue with a slight greenish overtone in indoor lighting and changes to more of a blue color with the same smoky overtone in sunlight. This "Step Oval" cut stone is a really interesting example of this color-change material, and it would make a great addition to any gem collection. The stone is nearly eye-clean and of good quality for the material. Donated to the Rice Museum by a local donor, for this benefit auction.
