Fluorite (unique ''curved'' crystals) on Quartz

Fluorite is one of those species that is found in a wide range of habits / morphologies, but the at the De'an Mine from a few years ago produced these attractive and unique crystals with a slightly "curved" form, which is certainly not common for the species. This attractive specimen features a 3-dimensional crystal group of slightly curved Fluorite octahedra, sitting on sugary, white Quartz matrix that overlays a base of translucent green Fluorite underneath. The Fluorite group measures 2.7 cm across. The contrast of purple octahedra against the sparkling white snowy matrix of the Quartz is very eye-catching, When backlit, the Fluorite piece glows and is highly translucent throughout. A cool Fluorite specimen from this unique discovery. Additionally, the piece sits nicely on its own without the aid of a base or clay. Valued at $850 in the inventory.
