The famed De'an Mine in China is well known among collectors for producing some beautiful and often large display specimens of wonderfully colorful and gemmy Fluorite crystals. This is an attractive cabinet display specimen featuring unusually slightly curved octahedral purple Fluorite crystals which measure up to 3.6 cm across sitting on a thick gemmy layer of beautiful green massive Fluorite matrix. My favorite aspect of the purple octahedra is that when you backlight them, you can see a gorgeous blue hue around the edges. Most of the crystals are undamaged, though there are some peripheral contacts where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. These pieces are now becoming very difficult to find on the market, and if you collect Fluorites or Chinese minerals, don't miss out on this showy big display specimen for an excellent price.
