Item Description

Here we have a cool piece for any fan of Fluorite, as the odd mix of colors makes it incredibly desirable for the species. This attractive specimen is from a discovery in 2017. These Fluorite are truly unique as not only have they formed outside of the typical pegmatites and metamorphic deposits in the area, but they feature some of the most unusual color combinations that I can think of. For what is typically a very colorful species, this particular specimen is notably ABSENT of color. When I first picked it up, I called it a "black and white" Fluorite. The central portion of the crystals are essentially colorless, and the color on the outer portion is very similar to Smoky Quartz. The only actual color I can see is a thin layer of a light blue hue on one side. There are several sharp, attractive, gemmy cubic crystals measuring up to 2.3 cm on edge. It's very well-crystallized on the front side, with no real damage that I can see with the naked eye, but it is contacted on the back. If you're a Fluorite collector, you need to add one of these to your collection as very few are available.
