Item Description
Arizona is best known for its colorful secondary ore minerals, and I imagine that a lot of people don't associate Arizona with Fluorite specimens. The pieces from the Homestake-Jack Pot Mine are some of the better Fluorites from any locality in the state, but they are not commonly seen on the market. Even less is available than several years ago, as nothing has come out in a while. This small cabinet display specimen features attractive, gemmy, green, octahedral crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.5 cm across on Quartz matrix. No damage that I can find. It should be noted that while the Fluorite crystals are octahedral in shape, they actually have hundreds of tiny modifying faces all over. A really cool specimen of these hard to find specimens from this old gold mine in northwestern Arizona (near the Nevada Border).
