Item Description

The Groverake Mine at Weardale was not known as a major specimen producer, compared to its much more famous neighbors, such as the Heights or Frazer's Hush Mines. This mine only closed in 1999. For the locale, this is a significant and uncommon CABINET specimen. A 3-dimensional mound of lustrous, translucent, tannish-yellow, fluorite cubes comprise this excellent piece. The large, dominating, central cube is 3.8 cm. This is a very uncommon fluorite color for this locale. A very fine pristine specimen.
