Fluorite (''Tanzanite Fluorite'') on Quartz

A lovely piece of these distinctive Fluorites from China which have been given the nickname "Tanzanite Fluorite" for their beautiful purple color in indoor lighting, which shifts to more of a blue-purple color in sunlight, reminiscent of the purple and blue colors seen in Tanzanite crystals. Please note that the nickname is only used as an adjective, as there is no Tanzanite on the piece, the epithet is indicative of the color. This piece features several fine quality, well-formed, sharp crystals of gemmy richly colored Fluorite that show a combination of cubic and dodecahedral faces measuring up to 1.2 cm across sitting on a three-dimensional mound of attractive, silvery colored Quartz crystals on matrix. The Fluorite crystals are in great condition, most crystals are undamaged, but a few are cleaved, and I will point out that the piece has been sawn on the underside. These came out in 2017, and none since, so don't miss out, as we may never see them again.
