Item Description

A beautiful and noticeable piece of what is informally referred to as "Tanzanite Fluorite" from China. The name has nothing to do with Tanzanite, it's just an allusion to the color, as these piece have a beautiful rich purple color in indoor lighting, which shifts to more of a blue-purple color in sunlight, reminiscent of the purple and blue colors seen in Tanzanite crystals, but make no mistake, there is no Tanzanite on the specimen. This is a really impressive piece of this material for the fact that the crystals are larger than most you'll see from the locality. Several intergrown, fine quality, very well-formed, sharp crystals of gemmy richly colored Fluorite that show a combination of cubic and dodecahedral faces measuring up to 3.6 cm across, free of matrix. Good condition on the display side, with only a bit of peripheral roughness. These came out in 2017, and not since, so don't miss out, as we may never see them again. Valued $2,500.
