Item Description

A small cabinet sized specimen of what has been titled "Tanzanite Fluorite" from a discovery in China dating back a few years. These pieces have received this moniker for their beautiful purple color in indoor lighting, which shifts to more of a blue-purple color in sunlight, reminiscent of the purple and blue colors seen in Tanzanite crystals. Please note that there is no Tanzanite on this specimen, the nickname is only indicative of the color. This piece features several fine quality, very well-formed, sharp crystals of gemmy richly colored Fluorite that show a combination of cubic and dodecahedral faces measuring up to 1.9 cm with minor Calcite and Quartz on matrix. Very little damage on the front/display side, but the upper back edge is contacted where it was removed from the pocket wall. These came out in 2017, and not since, so don't miss out, as we may never see them again. Priced at $850 in the inventory.
