Fluorite (superb unique highly etched crystal) (ex Leigh Price Collection)

The famous Elmwood Mine only produces a handful of species - most notably Calcite and Fluorite - but they are some of the most iconic examples ever discovered. The Fluorites from this locality range from textbook deep purple cubes to highly etched crystals of a softer purple hue, sometimes showing a combination of pale golden and purple colors. This piece is fantastic example of the etched material as the front side retains its original cubic shape, but when you rotate it, you can see the elaborate and intricate etching pattern that give it an other worldly appearance. Upon close inspection, you can see the alluring "spires" that remain after the crystal was etched, that give the appearance of an ethereal fantasy cityscape. Additionally, the thicker corner of the Fluorite is completely WATER CLEAR and shows light golden and lavender hues. A few groups of cream colored Barite adorning the front of the specimen makes for a wonderful accent. For a common species like Fluorite, this particular style is incredibly hard to find, and the fact that this piece is so unique and aesthetic makes it all the more desirable.
