Fluorite (superb classic gemmy twins)

Item Description

A classic from the northern lead mines of England. This small cabinet display specimen features superb quality, very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy, beautiful cubic crystals showing textbook penetration twins on very minor matrix. The largest crystal measures 2.5 cm on edge and is completely undamaged. The color ranges from a mix of purple, pinkish and green hues indoors (under LED lighting) to more saturated solid purple hue in sunlight which is actually STRONGER due to a gorgeous daylight fluorescence. Most of the Fluorites are in excellent condition on the display side, but the piece is forgivably contacted around the back edge where it was removed from the pocket wall. Some of the crystals show slight internal "phantoms" when backlit and the color ranges from that glowing purple hue to almost a golden color to nearly colorless internally. Great quality, aesthetics and size on this one, but perhaps the most impressive aspect of the piece is that it sits on its own without the aid of a base or clay! Valued at $3,750 in the inventory.
