Item Description

An excellent, large, two-sided specimen of classic, emerald-green gemmy fluorites with preferential etching from the famous Rogerley Mine in England. The luster is excellent, fluorescence superb, and the plate is richly covered by many intergrown crystals. There are numerous pairs of interpenetrating twins, containing crystals ranging up to an impressive 3.2 cm on edge. A modest bit of scattered brusing and periphery wear is noted, but certainly nothing to detraction. These are gorgeous pieces, and I think extremely cheap for what you get in significance and color impact for an English fluorite. Super fluorescence under any bright light! Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and from the Blue Bell Pocket, Summer 2008, according to his label. Valued at $1000-1200 today based on the last round of mining and prices going up as it gets harder to recover specimens here.
