Fluorite (Spinel twin)

Item Description

A very hard to find and beautiful Spinel-law twinned crystal of Fluorite from the famous Yaogangxian Mine. The piece is quite gemmy (nearly water clear) when backlit, despite the fact that it has dark inky purple color zoning on the exterior faces. It's actually nearly inside, and has a small amount of green coloration on the base. It's complete all the way around, except on the bottom where it detached from the matrix. It's a good sized thumbnail, and very showy. It was hard to photograph due to the mix of colors and the fact that it doesn't have clear cut discernible faces to highlight in the photos, but take my word for it, it looks better in person. Valued at $595 in the previous dealer's inventory.
