Fluorite (slight color change)

Fluorite as a species, has been found in thousands of localities around the world, often in gem quality examples, but there are not a lot of good faceted Fluorites on the market. Going back a few years, a find of some beautiful Fluorites in Morocco was made. These pieces were faceted into gems, and show a color change in different temperature lighting. This stone is one of the better examples we've had to offer in the auctions. The stones exhibit a gentle blue color (with a slight lavender overtone) in direct sunlight, and changes to a smoky lavender color in incandescent lighting. Now the color in sunlight is truly the optimal color for the material, and these gems remind me of certain blue Fluorites from Hardin County, Illinois that perform a similar kind of color change. The stone has a "Round Brilliant" cut and is very slightly included, but still very good quality. This is the only example we have to offer of in the auctions right now, so do not miss out.
