Fluorite (slight color change)

Fluorite as a species, is found in thousands of localities around the world, often in gem quality examples, but you don't see a lot of good faceted Fluorites on the market. A few years ago, there was a find of some beautiful Fluorites in Morocco which show a color change in different temperature lighting, and this stone is one of the better examples we've had to offer in the auctions. The stones exhibit a gentle blue color (with a slight lavender overtone) in direct sunlight, and changes to a smoky lavender color in incandescent lighting. Now the color in sunlight is truly the optimal color for the material, and these gems remind me of certain blue Fluorites from Hardin County, Illinois that perform a similar kind of color change. The stone has a "Pear Brilliant" cut and is very slightly included, but still very good quality. This is the only example we have to offer of in the auctions right now, so do not miss out.
