Item Description

Sculptural and classic large two-sided combination plate from the famous Yaogangxian Mine. Two intergrown, well-placed, glassy, gemmy, pretty purple fluorite cubes, 2.3 cm across, with nifty darker edge phantoms highlight the piece. The jumbled matrix is intergrown glassy and lustrous, transparent to translucent quartz crystals, to 5.5 cm. Striking accessories are the many scattered about textbook pseudo-hexagonal, lustrous, translucent, gray to brown scheelite crystals, to 1.1 cm and the rich preferential coatings of tiny, sparkly, glassy calcite rhombohedrons. A BONUS on the back are the thin "paper" calcite crystals and a few tiny fluorites. LW UV purple fluorite and pink calcite fluorescence and ghostly white SW UV scheelite fluorescence. The interior is pristine on the mounded 'A' side of this showy combination from this noted locale. Old material, as I can tell by style, from the 1990s.
