Fluorite (rich green color)

Item Description

Here we have a wonderful, robust, rich emerald-green, gemmy, gorgeous Fluorite octahedron. This exotic and colorful Fluorite is from a small 2016 find near Yiwu City, a very obscure locality in Zhejiang Province, China. The piece GLOWS with color when backlit, which transitions into a nearly colorless hue on the edges. The crystal has some interesting almost modified features, and it's slightly "curved" in one area, which could be due to some hydrothermal etching. The bottom and back side of the piece are not broken, as I looked closely and can clearly see crystallized faces, so the piece is nearly a complete "floater" with no major damage. Obviously the crystal detached from the pocket wall at some point during its formation, and continued to crystallize while it free. Minor Quartz and some matrix can be seen on the bottom. A really attractive and riveting larger display quality specimen from this small find. Priced in the inventory at $4,000.
