Item Description
This is not your typical Dalnegorsk Fluorite, which are often cubic in habit and either green or colorless. This piece features very gemmy, soft purple colored crystals of Fluorite showing a combination of dodecahedral and cubic faces measuring up to 2.7 cm, on minor matrix. When backlit, you can see the crystals are nearly water clear insde. Excellent condition on the front, but the piece is contacted around the edges where it was removed from the pocket wall. A very presentable and fine quality example of this limited material from this famous mineral producing locality in Russia. Valued at $800-$1,000. From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
