A very impressive, large and hard to find scepter style habit crystal of white/colorless Fluorite from the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia, China. This piece is one of the largest examples of this material that we've seen, and is nearly a complete "floater" as it's almost crystallized 100% of the way around. While scepter growths are well-known in species like Quartz, they are notably hard to find Fluorite, and typically only in smaller examples. A very special piece of this gorgeous material, and if you collect worldwide Fluorites, or minerals from China, do not miss out on this excellent specimen for your collection. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel.
