Item Description

Fluorite specimens are RARE, especially BLUE ones, from this well-known limestone quarry in the Lockport Dolomite. A 1.3 cm, glassy, gemmy, light blue cube is nicely set in a vug lined with lustrous dolomite rhombs and cleavages of straw-yellow calcite. Interestingly, no fluorescence. One edge of the cube is bruised, but is certainly only a modest detraction to the showy and excellent rarity. The piece has several display views. Ex Robert Nowakowski Collection.
