Fluorite (rare locality specimen)

These wonderful Fluorites date back to the mid 2000s, and truly don't get enough credit for the size, color and quality. The discovery was quite limited, very few great pieces were available, and then they dried up. If you're a Fluorite collector, you really should have a good Taourirt specimen in your collection. This piece features a robust, sharp, well-formed purple cube of Fluorite, free of matrix with a couple minor partial Fluorites on the side. The piece is translucent when backlit. The reverse side of the specimen is actually re-crystallized ("re-healed"), so it's almost complete all the way around. Certainly one of the larger individual crystals I've seen from this locality.
