Item Description

These specimens came from a limited discovery in 2017, and if you're a Fluorite collector, be sure to check this one out as very few are available. We were able to purchase the lion's share of good pieces from the initial find, and we've seen very little on the market since. At first, it was a big surprise to find out that these Fluorites came from Balochistan, which is best known for the beautiful fiery "Alpine-type" Brookite specimens, and not crystallized Fluorites. This material is not what one would expect from this area, but a few other dealers from Pakistan had them labeled as also coming from Balochistan, so we're quite confident that the locality is legit. This piece is a beautifully intergrown group of crystallized Fluorite with distinct, sharp cubic faces and a unique color combination. In indoor lighting, the color is a vibrant blue with hints of lavender and white mixed in but in sunlight, you can see more of a solid blue color. Select faces have a soft white overgrowth, which give the appearance of a light snowfall on the side of a mountain. The back of the piece features some unusual skeletal / "hoppered" growths along with some hollow areas and a bit of a "smoky" hue to the Fluorites. This combination of colors and forms is virtually unseen in Fluorite, especially the smoky colored zones. With backlighting, you can see that the crystals are fairly gemmy. The piece is in very good shape on the front, and it's actually partially re-crystallized on the back, where it detached itself from the pocket wall during growth. The largest individual cube measures 5.6 cm on edge. We have some more of these to offering in the coming weeks and months, and there will be specimens that show colors ranging from purples, to blues to pinks to colorless and smoky hues. A really cool specimen from an unlikely locality that would make a great fit into any collection. Valued at $750.
