Item Description

A very hard to find Fluorite specimen from the lesser-known Foster Mine in southwestern New Mexico. This is the first specimen we've had to offer from this locality, and it's a notably impressive full cabinet sized display piece. It's filled with well-formed, GEMMY, strong green colored octahedral crystals measuring up to 3.7 cm, with no matrix. The lower portion of the piece transitions into a light purple hue, and the color really comes out when the piece is backlit. The top / display side of the piece is in good condition, and the lower portion is understandably contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. A fantastic piece to add to any Fluorite suite, especially a collection of pieces from Grant County. Valued $800-$1000.
The specimen comes from the collection of David L. Stoudt, with a label from the collection of Chris Cowan.
