Item Description

From a discovery a few years ago in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia, here we have an attractive display specimen of very gemmy, sharp, lustrous, cubic green Fluorite with individual crystals measuring up to 2.4 cm on edge, siting on a thin layer of matrix coated by drusy grey Quartz. The reverse side of the specimen features small beige scalenohedral Calcite crystals for a nice touch. Please note: These specimens were originally labeled as coming from the Choir area, and were mined by Spirifer Minerals, but the correct locality as of the time of this posting is the Sümber District, Govisumber Province, Mongolia. Very good quality on the display side as the crystals are distinct and virtually water-clear in areas. Very few of these are on the market, so if you collect Fluorites, don't miss out on this excellent specimen from this remote part of the world.
