Item Description
A strikingly sculptural and RARE fluorite specimen from near the old, obscure and extinct Cave-in-Rock area Tower Rock Mine. Dramatically intergrown lustrous and translucent stepped-growth cubes have pretty violet color. The impressive cubes, to 3.4 cm, have nubby frosted faces. The cubes light up, when back lit. This artistic, modern art-looking piece has fantastic display quality from mulitple directions. Modest purple fluorescence minor and yellow hydrocarbon fluorescence. Ex Ross Lillie Collection # 0699. The handwritten note on the back of his label states: "Collected in 1995 by bulldozing and reworking old outcroppings in the Tower Rock Mine area. RARE location." Essentially pristine. RARE and excellent fluorite valued at $1250-1500.
