Item Description
Sharp, well-formed, translucent octahedra of Fluorite measuring up to 2.7 cm with minor Quartz from an undisclosed locality in Catron County, New Mexico. The color of the Fluorites is mostly pink / fuchsia but some of them show "phantom" zoning with richer purple cores as well (best seen on the reverse / back side of the piece where the crystals are contacted). A cool Fluorite specimen to add to a worldwide Fluorite suite or a collection of minerals from New Mexico. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6248). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
